Sport Today: Kylian Mbappe Sets to leave PSG this Summer Aim for Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe has confirmed he will leave PSG end of the season.

The 25-year-old French soccer star Kylian Mbappé officially announced that he is set to leave PSG on Friday after his contract ends with the club this summer, he said he will not extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain “and the adventure will come to an end in a few weeks, I will play my last game for the club this Sunday.

He said, “many years where I had the chance and the great honor to be a member of the biggest French club, which allowed me to learn and grow as a player of course, by being alongside some of the best players in history - some of the greatest champions, to grow as a man as well, with all the glory and the mistakes I've made."

He said: "It's hard, and I never imagined it could be this difficult to announce that, to leave my country, France, Ligue 1, a championship I’ve always known, but I think I needed this – a step to a new challenge after seven years."

From evaluation, Mbappe is known to be the third highest paid footballer in the world follow by soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

 

 

 PSG Recent Negotiation Concerning Mbappes’ Transfer

Real Madrid has always had interest in Mbappe, who might need to accept a decrease in salary to join the Spanish side, though they are ready to make him the highest-paid footballer in their history.

PSG once turned down a €220m offer for Mbappe from Real Madrid in August 2021. Which later on Mbappe then chosed to sign a new three-year contract with PSG which will expire this summer.

During his announcement, he thanked all his current and former PSG team-mates and coaches. He also thanked sporting directors Leonardo and Luis Campos and all the club's backroom and non-football staff.
